Lizzy & Arnold will always hold a special place in my heart. They are some of the nicest, sweetest people ever. And they were sooooo excited about the photography, and I looooove clients like that. :) HUGE thanks to Barbara Hearne for recommending me to her fab clients. I seriously couldn’t have asked for better people to spend 12.5 hours (yes, you read that correctly… 12.5!) with on their wedding day. This is a fairly long blog post because… well, when you shoot for over 12 hours, you end up with A LOT of pictures! Enjoy!

Lizzy wanted to set up a “first look” with her Dad after she got into her dress. I loved this idea (I’m a total daddy’s girl myself), and I’m so glad we did it because these images are priceless.

Meanwhile, back at The Driskill, Arnold’s dad was helping him get ready. My 2nd shooter did an awesome job capturing these moments and details.

At the church, Lizzy’s bridesmaids and some extended family joined her.

Lizzy and her brother (the man of honor) made some funny faces at each other in the mirror just before the ceremony. :D

These two were SO happy to be marrying each other that day.

We had tons of time between the ceremony and reception to run around downtown Austin for the bride and groom portraits. Having all this time allowed for a good amount of variety and creativity. Most weddings I have somewhere between 10 and 30 minutes, and while I take whatever I can get (I have a lot of practice getting great portraits in a time crunch), this was SO much more relaxed, and I loved it… and I’m pretty sure Lizzy & Arnold did too!

We ran into some of their friends/wedding guests while walking around downtown, and I got this fun photo of the bride and groom showing off their wedding rings.

After a bit of walking, Arnold flagged down a horse-drawn carriage to take us to the Texas State Capitol Building. Did I mention Lizzy & Arnold live in L.A.? A lot of us Austinites take the Capitol for granted, but they were so excited about getting a shot there. It was a “must have” on their list!

While riding in the carriage, Arnold mentioned that he had always dreamed he would ride in a horse drawn carriage on his wedding day. I’m so happy that this dream came true! :)

OMG, they are so cute. How can you not love them?

The Driskill Ballroom was absolutely stunning. Barbara and Bouquets of Austin did an amazing job with the decor!

Party time!

Thanks for being so great you guys, I am so honored to have been the one to document one of the most special and significant days in your life. Hugs all around! :)
